TEA CO2 Laser
Laser Materials Processing Division, RRCAT has developed a high energy, high repetition rate, UV pre-ionized tunable TEA CO2 laser for potential use in photochemistry, paint stripping in toxic and radioactive areas, marking and drilling of capsules and tablets etc.
Tunability: Line tunable on more than 60 discrete lines in 9.6-10.6 �m bands.
Energy: more than 1J with 170 ns (FWHM) pulse duration with nitrogen lean gas mixture used for tail free laser pulse.
Energy at maximum gain line with nitrogen rich gas mixtures is more than 3.5 J.
Repetition rate: variable from 1-100 Hz.
Incorporates a novel pre-ionization scheme for trouble free operation over extended periods.
Purge mode gas filling option enables continuous operation at high repetition rate.
Solid state catalyst allows semi-sealed off operation for short intervals.
Compact, rugged and efficient 50 J, 50 kV peak pulsed power supply with a +/- 1.0% stability resulting in stable output energy and power.
Microcontroller based embedded control system for user friendly and safe operation of the laser.
